Packer Thomas is pleased to announce that Karen S. Cohen, CPA  and Jeffrey R. Sheets, CPA became Principals in our firm effective October 1, 2006.

Mrs. Cohen is a graduate of Youngstown State University and has sixteen years experience in the accounting profession.
 

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Estate Planning Council of Mahoning-Shenango Valley.

Her specific areas of expertise are personal income tax planning, taxation of trusts, gift and estate tax compliance, business pass-through entity planning and consulting, and education incentives planning.

Karen and her husband are the parents of two children and reside in East Palestine, Ohio.
 

Mr. Sheets is a graduate of Youngstown State University and has seventeen years experience in the accounting profession.  He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He is also the Director of Information Technology Consulting at Packer Thomas and a Sage Software authorized partner and certified consultant.  His specific areas of expertise are the Sage Accpac product line, which includes accounting, customer relationship management, human resource management, and other specialty areas.  Jeff also has expertise in system evaluation, disaster recovery planning, security auditing, and project management.

Jeff resides with his wife and two children in North Lima, Ohio.
